When I went to art school in Manhattan in the mid-80s, there was a prevailing sentiment that New York was the only place for art in the US. Obviously that is not the case now. There are vibrant art centers all across the globe.
One area that sounds very exciting is the Dallas Arts District in downtown Dallas, Texas. That is also home to the Dallas Museum of Art.
The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin has a captivating video on its website, giving you a sense of the aesthetic beauty within.
The Austin Museum of Art offers artists teaching positions for its classes.
What is also great is that these museums post job listings with online applications, so if you live in Texas, you may want to dust your resumes and check these places out.
