Saving Artworks after a Disaster

Disasters such as the recent Hurricane Sandy that struck the Atlantic seaboard, besides bringing death and destruction, also damaged a lot of artwork - most of it stored in flooded out gallery basements. In response to such wreckage, New York's Museum of Modern Art has posted an online Emergency Guidelines for Art which recommends the immediate steps to take to salvage the art.
